Now that the semester is in full swing, and I well and truly feel a mental breakdown coming on, I’m realising how important getting a good nights sleep is. We all have different ways in which we relax and unwind after work or uni, so I thought it would be fun to put together a little night-time essentials post as my schedule changes so often that I can’t really nail it down to a routine. Aside from the usual pup under my covers and Netflix series playing in the background, here are some things that I can’t go to be without! Enjoy!
It seems super cliché, but I literally cannot get a good nights sleep without these. I have them on all night (and usually forget about them during the day too), and they just put me in the deepest sleep. There is something so relaxing about warm twinkly lights that puts me right out!
I have my usual skin care routine, that I do morning and night, but there are two things that I can’t go to bed without every single night. The first is the Origins Night-A-Mins Oil, and the second is the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial moisturizer. Knowing that these two are doing wonders for my skin during the wee hours puts my mind at rest because my skin is hella bratty and will freak out on me if I leave these out of my routine.
A Good Book
Reading before I sleep is definitely something I’ve been trying to do instead of scrolling through social media repeatedly until my eyes are burning. Lately I’ve been loving Jennifer Niven’s “All The Bright Places” and “Grey” from the 50 Shades of Grey series.
My hands are thirsty. I get dry and scaly hands all the time, especially in the winter and having a good hand cream next to my bed leaves no excuse for not keeping them moisturizer. The only thing is, I really struggle to find one with a scent that I like, because a lot of scents either irritate my skin or give me a headache. This one from Cotton On Body is the only one that I actually enjoy the scent of, it absorbs super quickly into my skin and doesn’t leave me feeling greasy.
I am super fussy when it comes to pj’s and socks. I must have fresh socks on before I sleep and the only pyjama’s I will repurchase without fail is the joggers from Peter Alexander. So cosy, and let’s be honest, how can anyone resist avocado socks???
What are some things you can’t go to bed or relax without?
Thanks for reading! xo
