Music: The July Edit

So July has (almost) rolled around and that means a little bit more freedom for the next couple of weeks before the chaos of uni starts again! Although these playlists do come in handy during the freakishly long commute into town, I think that they can more thoroughly enjoyed on the upcoming girls trip that I’m going on for my friends 22nd birthday! So here it is, my 3 top go-to Spotify playlists (because I’m way too lazy to make my own)..

Cheesy Hits – Busted, McFly, Smashmouth, Peter Andre

The dream mix for 90’s babies, ideal for road trips and girls nights alike! Also, if anyone catches you getting a bit too into the vocals during your commute, they’ll probably be able to join in.

The Australian Sound – Flume, What So Not, Chet Faker

Relaxed vibes that don’t induce a momentary emotional lapse, great for studying, mooching around the house and summer nights on the deck. I like this playlist mostly because I listen to Top 40 at work all day, so it’s nice to drive home to something slightly more relaxed and less reminiscent of my day in retail.

Feel Good Friday – Scouting for Girls, Outkast, Oasis, Gorillaz, Madness

90’s baby meets, well, my parents! At a first glance, this playlist seemed a bit crap, but hidden beneath R Kelly and cringe-y soundtrack JT, there are some real gems! I promise. So many of these songs remind me of my childhood, I think my parents listened to most of these artists around the house when I was young. When I was a teenager, Madness and the Gorillaz were introduced by my dad, much to my dismay, but now I’m older I retract my bad feedback in place for some great appreciation! This playlist definitely makes it worth paying for Spotify premium.

Also worth a mention; Best New EDM

A lot of it is just Top 40 stuff, but there is some goodies hidden in there for sure!
