My Favourite Lush Products For Problematic Skin

My skin type is always changing. It goes from dry to oily, to acne prone and back dry in the space of a month. Shout out to PCOS and Endo for that one! Hence why I categorise my skin as ‘problematic’. I like to keep my skin care quite natural, I use a lot of flower oils and natural clays and plant-based products to minimise irritation. My skin feels the best when I’m focusing on putting good stuff in, rather than constantly trying to strip the bad stuff out. I have slowly been increasing the amount of Lush products I use as my skin goes through its different phases, and seeing as Lush is super accessible and affordable I decided to let you all know my top recommendations for fussy skin – enjoy!

Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask
This mask is really good for freshening up my skin and nourishing it. My face always feels super soft and hydrated after using it. I try to apply this twice a week to replenish anything my skin could be lacking. The great thing about 100% natural skin care is that you can use them as often as you feel necessary and you know you’re not overdoing it with chemicals. Brazened Honey is full of fresh fruits, Ayurvedic herbs and organic honey to stimulate your skin and leave it feeling fresh and revitalised.

Cosmetic Warrior Fresh Face Mask
This little gem is packed full of antibacterial ingredients to gently cleanse the skin. Tea tree and garlic are its main ingredients which both help to naturally defend the skin from any acne causing bacteria. The mask itself has a funny smell, obviously the main ingredients hint towards that. I use this mask once or twice a week, sometimes more if I’m having an oily phase.

Grease Lightning Spot Treatment
Witch hazel and tea tree make up this little concoction, creating a super spot zapping duo. The great thing about this is that both ingredients although fight bacteria and acne, are also very nourishing and never leave my face feeling tight or irritated. Native Americans discovered that witch hazel was great at calming inflamed skin as well as treating various other medical issues. It’s also incredible at minimising acne scars and preventing future scars from appearing. I pop this gel treatment on any inflamed areas and on any spots and always wake up with a clearer complexion.

Tea Tree Toner Water
This is literally the best toner I’ve ever used. Tea tree water is used for clarifying and antimicrobial action and works absolute wonders on my skin. I use this after cleansing by spraying some onto a cotton pad and distributing it all over my face. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry and I always wake up the next morning with an overall clearer complexion. Get your hands on this if you suffer with lots of little spots or pimples, or even just want to prevent bacteria from clogging your pores.

Well that pretty much rounds up what I use to treat my skin, aside from my everyday cleanse and moisturizer. I have noticed such a difference by removing chemical based skin care from my life. Chemicals can be great at solving problem skin, but a natural approach should be considered first in my opinion! You can shop all of these products at Lush online or in stores.

So many people love the tea tree toner, and I have yet to try it since I ran out of my other Lush toner. Plus those little 100ml bottles last a year for me! I’ve tried and tested so many of their face masks, but I haven’t tried these… Guess what’s going on the list next time I’m in Lush? xx
